After you bring the Dragonstone to Farengar, he talks with a mysterious woman wearing a hood, about the Dragonstone.
At the end of the conversation, a soldier reports to Jarl Balgruff that a dragon appeared near Western Watchtower.
Balgruff says that you knows the dragon better than anyone else since you has met it, and requests you to kill it with Irilles and soldiers.
As requested by Balgruff, move to near Western Watchtower, and the Dragon appears.
After you kill the dragon, a mysterious energy absorbed into your body.
The identity of energy was the Dragon Soul, and you can unlock the thu'um by using it.
The soldier approaches you and tells you are the Dragonborn, because you have absorbed the Dragon Souls.
After you report this information to Jarl Balgruuf, the quest ends.
And now you became the thane of Whiterun.
You can buy house 'The Breezhome', and you can recruit Lydia, the Housecarl, as a follower.
